Android’s Focus mode feature is now out of beta, adds new features

We often get distracted by notifications and apps on our smartphones. With the Digital Wellbeing tool on Android, Google introduced a beta feature called Focus mode that allows you to pause apps so that you can focus on your work and get things done. If you remember the work mode in the then blackberry 10 OS.

Google today announced that Focus Mode feature is now out of beta. Once the focus mode is enabled, when you try to open games or social media apps, Android will remind you that app is paused. In addition, this feature will also silence those apps’ notifications.

Based on the feedback from beta users, Google has also added some new features to Focus mode. For example, you now have option to automatically turn Focus mode on and off for the days and times that you choose. And the new “Take a Break” feature will allow you to temporarily snooze focus mode.

This new Focus mode feature is now available on all Android 9 and Android 10 devices that currently have Digital Wellbeing and parental controls settings.
